The song "Costa Mesa" makes an appearance in the trailer for the upcoming film "Born to Run: A Tale of Endurance". The film is a documentary about marathon runners and looks really cool from the trailer. Watch the trailer below.  

4th ANNUAL HOUR CLOSER TO A CURE - BENEFIT for THE MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SOCIETY
We’ll playing at a Happy Hour Benefit this Thursday March 6th at Rhodeside Grill in Arlington. It starts at 6:30pm and all proceeds go to benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Society in conjunction with the MSWalk fundraiser taking place on April 5th in DC. Come out and support a great cause. SIX POINTS MUSIC FESTIVAL
We are honored to be participating in the local music festival showcasing some of the best bands and venues in the area. ARCH ALCANTARA NOMINATED FOR 2 WAMMIES!!
The Skillets very own Arch Alcantara has been nominated for honors in 2 very different categories in the Washington Area Muic Association (WAMA) Awards known as the Wammies:
Best Roots Rock Instrumentalist and

We are proud to see Arch get some much deserved recognition for his talents and hardwork. Congrats Arch.

WES CHOSEN TO COMPETE FOR SXSW TRIP
Wes was selected to perform in the Texas Road Trip. The competition takes place at the Austin Grill in Silver Spring, MD and will feature 32 singer-songwriters competing for a trip to perform at the legendary South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin Texas. Wes plays Tuesday Jan. 31 at 8:00pm and needs your help to move on to the next round.

THE SKILLETS ON CHRISTMAS COMPILATION
We recently recorded the classic tune "Please Come Home for Christmas" to be included on the Yellow House Studios Christmas Compilation Album. The album, produced by Tim Hermes, will be released this Wednesday the 7th at Evening Star Cafe in Alexandria with performances from a whole bunch of artists on the album. THE NEW ALBUM IS FINISHED
Beauty in the Broken is the title to the much anticipated follow up album to Tradition. We started recording back in January at Yellow House Studios with Engineer/Producer Tim Hermes after just a handful of practices with the then new lineup. It took about 9 or 10 months to finish mostly because we were constantly playing out with over 40 shows this year, but we believe it was worth the wait. Stay tuned to find out where you can hear it and how to get your copy.

AIDS BENEFIT and MARATHON for the WHITMAN-WALKER CLINIC
Wes and Bryan will play a special acoustic show at a benefit for the Whitman-Walker Clinic to raise money and awareness for the community fight against AIDS in conjunction with the AIDS Marathon. Three other stellar acts will also be playing including Mara Levi, Plastic Sky and Exit Clov. The show is Friday July 22nd at Staccato in Adams Morgan DC @ 8pm with a suggested $10 donation.

CINCO DE MAYO with the SKILLETS!
Two big shows just announced to celebrate Cinco De Mayo. The first is May 1st at the Cinco De Mayo Fiesta in Richmond VA. The outdoor fiesta is headlined by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, has two stages, eight bands, music all day long, and about 10,000 people.
The second Cinco De Mayo show is actually on May the 5th at the State Theatre in the semi-finals of the Emergenza Battle of the Bands. We need your support. Contact us for pre-sale tickets. Check the shows page for more details. Es muy bueno. Gracias.  

'Tradition' recieves review at CatsAsk Music 

The Skillets will be performing at a benefit for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The event will be held at a happy hour at Rhodeside Grill in Arlington on Tuesday March 22nd from 6:30-8:30. The event will be raising money and awareness to coincide with an MS walk to be held on April 9th and 10th in several locations around the greater DC area.

Wes is selected to compete in semi-finals of SXSW singer songwriter competition to be held at the Austin Grill in Silver Springs, MD during Jan. and Feb. Wes and Bryan will perform acoustic on Tues. Feb. 15th for a chance to travel to Austin Texas and perform at the SXSW (South by Southwest) music festival. The Contest is sponspred by Z104.1 and OnTap magazine and of course Austin Grill.  

The Song "Come Home To Me" was selected to appear on the Artomatic compilation CD. Artomatic is a huge art showcase/gallery/music venue bi-annual month long event.

3 Songs receive recognition in the Mid Atlantic Songwriters Competition. “Out of my Hands” and “Lead Me On” both finished in the top 5! in the gospel category, “It wont Be Long” received honorable mention in the rock category. The contest received over 900 entries this year.
